*TNT 16U-18U FUTURE NATIONAL TEAM*
LI Express, the organization that started it all on Long Island, and TNTNY are kicking off another journey!
Last fall, the LI Express-Passante team worked with TNT Penn to bring a TNT team to New York and quickly became one of the island’s top teams!! Our first TNTNY team is *loaded* with some of Long Island’s top players! This past fall, they performed at the high level you would expect with such a collection of quality talent!
TNT New York’s coach, Ken Passante, has coached at every college level and has helped to place more softball players in college programs than any other coach on LI. Coach Passante is leading the charge with the LI Express Organization (along with TNTNY), helping to keep Long Island Softball front and center when it comes to developing college-ready players as well as assisting in the recruitment process.
As we move forward, Coach Passante is proud to announce the formation of our second TNT squad. This team will be led by Coach Jim Abbene, current head coach for The LI Shockwave. Jim has done a tremendous job with The Shockwave and has earned the utmost respect from players, parents, and opposing team coaches. All in all, this makes him the perfect candidate for our new position! With Shockwave’s 18U squad all moving on to college, Jim is looking forward to the new challenge of coaching our 16U-18U Future National Team. Our 16U-18U national squad is not starting from scratch, as we have already assembled a great nucleus of players. And now we are looking to complete the team by adding more players – that might be YOU!
At both the LI Express and TNT Organizations, we do not select players specifically by age. We focus on skills, drive, focus, and commitment. If you are 14 and confident you are ready to play up to the 18U level, we would be interested to see you try out. To be considered for this new 16U-18U national team, you must be serious about the game. Our organization expects players and their families to be committed to the team and practice schedule as well as be ready to take on travel for national tournaments. The path towards playing on a national level and becoming college-ready takes hard work and focus.
